Giancarlo Pozzi
Born in Varese, Italy in 1938. Pozzi lives and works in Varese and Milan
Giancarlo Pozzi does not escape into the imaginary: he is very much inside real structures and feels the pulsing of the existence of modern man threatened by upheavals, by ossification and therefore, by ruin in the heap of waste. The precise point of this difference from the surrealistic metamorphosis is his residing within daily life, not of an aristocratic elect, but of a mirror in which is reflected the common destiny of missions of people.
Pozzi opened his first "One Man Show" in 1959. Since that time, he has given more than two hundred exhibitions worldwide. During his forty-year career, Pozzi has also won many awards and prizes. |
