In 2007, Californiae Foundation for International Global Arts became a public charitable (501.c.3) non-profit organization. All activities of the Foundation are addressed, dedicated and open to the entire San Diego Community. The mission of the C.F.f.I.G.A. is to educate and enhance the life of local, regional, national, and world wide audiences by offering artistic cultural events throughout the year, to support the full spectrum of arts and artists, including contemporary visual art exhibitions, performing arts, classical- symphonic music and opera concerts, art history, literature, poetry, lectures, classes and films.
In addition to providing cultural programs, the Foundation will support artists in need and their children with educational and health programs through grants, scholarships and medical sponsorships. The Californiae Foundation for International Global Arts also will work closely with other non-profit organizations to help achieve mutual goals.
C.F.f.I.G.A. offers to the Community a wide range of art opportunities including the exchange of art and ideas with other countries to share and expand globally the understanding and appreciation of great artistic accomplishments. “We want to encourage every form of cultural expression as educational principle,” said Filippo Floridia, CEO executive director and curator of the Foundation
The Foundation will continue to offer a very successful monthly series of Opera Concerts with “Solana Intimate Ensemble” and other vocal and chamber music ensembles; offering pre-concert lectures with musicians, composers and musicologists. These professional artists and many international guests will be teaching music and conducting seminars for children and adults.
The Global Project also includes a rich educational visual arts program for all ages. Children and seniors will have the opportunity to learn art history, and art appreciation. They will also find programs here to learn techniques, practice hands-on art making and creative exploration by professional artists, professors and teachers.
