Represented Photographers Back
John Lovell
John Lovell studied photography at Palomar College in San Marcos, California. He Received his AA in Photojournalism in 1968. His photographs have been published in the Palomar College newspaper, the Vista Press and used in the yearbook for El Camino High School in Oceanside. He has had several photographs accepted and displayed at the Del Mar Fair International Photography Competition.
Lovell uses a Vivitar 220SL 35mm, totally manual camera, a 35mm Olympus IS3, auto focus camera, a Mamiya Secor 645 manual camera and a Contex 645 auto focus camera. He shoots in both color and black and white, but generally prefers the black and white medium, as seen in his images of the high Sierra ghost town of Bodie, California. He feels black and white photographs capture the spirit of the subject without the 'distraction' of color. |
