Vinca
Particular signs: Vinca loves to drink good wine…to eat good food. Vinca was born in 1969 close to Paris. Her name means a 'little savage blue flower'. From a Latin word, 'pervinca' means 'always green'. In English, the little flower means 'forget me not'.
Through every fiber, Vinca is a painter for the long run. She creates as she breathes, and she breathes like a plant pushed by a tropism toward the heights of light. A painter always wills herself on the move, without any other support than her brushes, scraps or canvas and a disposition to climb mountains, free as the wind. Painting is not merely a way to add to the world, it is a way of life, an unmerciful relationship with it.
Vinca informs and dopes her form. In all vitality. She commits herself to the nude, because she is devoted to it. Vinca loves this body, applied or free, open hearth, rather than closed, with a welcoming vocation. Accomplice and, at the climax of the apotheosis, transfigured.
Vinca's paintings are often the accumulation of burnt instances, of whispers and plentitude. They command contemplation, compressed time in osmosis. They reserve moments of fertile candor and amazed grace. They want to be cenacles of pleasure. |
